Spicy Mafia

Winter is just not going away in Toronto, with temperature still below freezing and snowy day still in March Break! What other way to eat warm up than having hot pot!

Most of the hot pot places around Toronto offers all-you-can-eat, which is great when you are staving. But how about days when you want hot pot but don’t want to stuff yourself with too much food? That is where Spicy Mafia steps in!

Spicy Mafia offers personalized mini hotpots combos and Szechuan spicy bowls (malatang). They are from the same owners as Morals Village, which is known as the best all-you-can-eat hotpot restaurants in Toronto.

Spicy Mafia has two locations, one in Markham (Warden / Steeles) and Downtown (College / Spadina). We visited the Markham location, which is covered with large mural of Chinese mafia characters.

Menu

Spicy Mafia offers mini hot pot combo for dinner. Starting at $12.99, you can pick your own soup base, staple food (noodles), meat, and dipping sauce. Each combo already come with set toppings such veggie, crab meat, shrimp, and red sausage.

If you feel hungry that day, you can also add additional meats or seafood to supplement the combo!

 Mini Hot Pot

We choose the Signature Spicy Soup Base and the Housemade Pork Bone Soup Base. We really liked the spicy soup base as it is very flavorful with the Sichuan chillies and Sichuan peppercorns. The pork bone soup is a great alternative if you don’t feel like spicy.

We just ordered two hot pot combo without any addons, but there are already plenty of food enough to fill two people! All the meat and veggie hot pot ingredients and very fresh and tasty.

This is definitely a wonderful alternative to AYCE hotpot, since you don’t have to eat too much and have the guilty feeling of gaining weight. The soup base and ingredients are as good as Moral Village and you don’t have to wait too long for tables!

For side dish we had the crispy chicken. The dipping sauce is a must try as it is from the main chef from Kaka Japanese all-you-can-eat!

Szechuan Spicy Pot Malatang

For lunch, you can have Szechuan style spicy pot also known as malatang! Starting at $8.99, you can choose your own items, pick the soup base, add meat, and then have a spicy bowl of warm soup to warm up!

Drinks

Spicy Mafia also offers great drinks to go with the hotpot. We had the watermelon and kiwi juice, both are very fresh and great to alleviate with the spiciness!

Overall we enjoy Spicy Mafia very much and will definitely come back when we feel like hot pot!
