About The Sugar Bay

Address: 5298 Yonge St, North York, ON M2N 5R3

Phone: (416) 901-3899

The Sugar Bay is an Asian-inspired dessert restaurant that has just been newly opened in 2017. It is located in the Korean food filled neighborhood of Yonge and Finch in Toronto. They aim to provide visually appealing desserts that are not overly sweet.

The restaurant décor is very cute and cozy. It is ocean inspired to be consistent with The Sugar Bay concept. The main theme color is blue and there were a lot of oceanic decorations such as fish and at-sea items. The staffs are very friendly and are dressed in sailor costumes.

Menu

The Sugar Bay offers a large variety of dessert, drinks, and appetizer. Everything are handcrafted and elegantly made. Plating and are presentation are fantastic and photogenic.

Desserts

We have sampled a few of their signature items. First up was the signature milk tea. The presentation is extraordinary amazing as the milk tea were put into a light-blub shaped vase, and then it is put into a large mug full of dry ice. The streaming effect makes this drink very Instagrammable and Boomerang worthy.

The lava cake was baked to perfection and complemented well by the delicious ice cream and fresh fruits. They have two versions available, chocolate molten and matcha.

Crystal Mango Roll is one of their creative dessert and is inspired by Asian hand rolls. It is made with fresh mango wrapped with transparent jello. It tastes as good as it looks and it is perfect if you prefer a light dessert.

This colorful creation is pancake filled with Asian fruit flavored mousses. Red one is dragon fruit, yellow is mango, and green is durian. It is very rare to find durian flavored items in Toronto and is a must have for all durian fans!

Snacks

There are also snacks such as Takoyaki (Japanese squid balls), fries, and Taiwanese popcorn chicken if you are craving for savory food.

Overall we enjoyed this cute dessert café and are very impressed by their visually appealing and tasty dessert. Highly recommend to anyone looking for sweets in the North York area!

Special thanks to @DKLoEvents for inviting to the tasting!

  1. Great review!! I’ve always wanted to be a food critic but I’m so lazy writing anything. I should quit my job and just travel and eat! Then I’ll have time to write reviews too! 😂😉
